Following a family tradition of carpenters and cabinet makers, Colin has been in the trade since 1968. His apprenticeship was served at a company that had been trading for over 200 years, making traditional work for architectural heritage. He also worked for a company making timber lifts supplied around the world, including Saudi Arabia, Nairobi and London and then had his own carpentry and joinery business for over 20 years making bespoke furniture, kitchens and bedrooms. Colin has been teaching evening courses for 10 years and has also run construction classes at a local secondary school. These courses encompass the theory and practical skills required in specialist areas such as plumbing, carpentry and DIY projects.

In this modern technological age of CAD (computer aided design) laser cutting and multi-production manufacturing, Colin feels passionately about passing on traditional skills before they are lost.
